Training Groups - Which group is right for you?

We currently have three groups.

Couch to 5K

Leader: Pete Davies.

This group is designed for people who are new to running.

We have a 9 week programme designed to get non-runners motivated and enjoying running.

There are 3 sessions per week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

We start with walking / running and gradually increase the amount of time spent running.

Group B

Leader: Chris Giblin.

You should be able to -

  • run 5K comfortably
  • run 5 to 6 miles at a steady pace (11 min/mile+)

Monday runs are longer, steady-pased runs.
These are usually between 5 to 6 miles and various length routes may be offered to suit all abilities.

Wednesday runs are speed, hills or interval based runs designed to improve speed and fitness.

Group A

Leader: Tony Metcalf

You should be able to -

  • run 10K in 50 minutes or less
  • run 8 to 9 miles at a good pace (8 min/mile+)

Monday runs are longer, steady-pased runs.
These are usually between 7 to 9 miles with the route decided on the night.

Wednesday runs are speed, hills or interval based runs designed to improve speed and fitness.
